This blog was created to discuss and disseminate a collection of invocations written for the Rotary Club Osijek, Croatia. Coming from the cultural and philosophical tradition of Croatia (and Eastern Europe in general) I think they represent a tone and viewpoint that readers will find somewhat different to the rich store of Rotarian invocations already in circulation. It is one of the reasons I chose to call the collection Rotary Prayers rather than invocations.

All the invocations consist of thanks, basic thoughts and prayers for God’s guidance. Both the form and content are in line with Christian, Jewish, Islamic, Hindu and other religious traditions and will be familiar to everyone looking for a positive outlook.

I hope that Rotary clubs around the world will find something of value in them, use them at their meetings and translate them into their own languages.
